Aug 24, 1918/ Saturday War Diary: hay stacks versus rats in the billet

Nothing doing to write about yesterday so won’t waste paper. Rested up today for our 25 mile hike tomorrow as we leave tomorrow for Camp Coetquidan. About 40 of the boys are lit up tonight and having a great time singing and hollering tonight. I slept under a hay stack last night and refuse to sleep in the billet tonight with the rats.
