Oct 20, 1918 Letter Home: before leaving for front

My dear Alberta,

.....The mail has been somewhat congested lately and no one has received any to speak of. My brother Fred has landed safely here and is stationed at a little village named {Cut out of letter} I don’t know where it is as I can’t find it on the map. I don’t suppose I’ll get a chance to see him before we move....

......I wish something would happen so I would have something to tell you about. Things that I would like to tell you about I am not permitted to mention so you see what I am up against. Never mind, before long now I’ll be able to keep you posted with some real news......
