Battery "B" of the 329th Field Artillery began training at Camp Custer near Battle Creek, Michigan on Sept, 1917.

The "B" battery left for France on June 16, 1918, saw battle in the Thiacourt Toul sector Nov 2-11, 1918, and departed France on Apr 23, 1919.

Compiled letters, postcards and war diary entries tell the war from Sid's viewpoint, detailing daily life, training, war, and recreational experiences . Shortly after the war ended, a handful of men (including Sid Light) compiled a Barrage book, giving a more complete outline of troop experiences. Taken together, these give a detailed account of an American WWI Field Artillery soldier's life.
